According to the geographical size, the population of Bihar is the
third and twelfth largest state. The word Bihar is derived from the word
"vihar" which means monastery. Bihar Jain was a great religious center
for the Hindus and, most importantly, Buddhists. It was in Bodhgaya that
Lord Buddha had attained enlightenment. Here, another great religion,
the founder of Jain religion, Lord Mahavir, was born and he attained
Nirvana. The border of Bihar state is from Uttar Pradesh, in the west,
Nepal in the north, northern part of West Bengal and Jharkhand in the
