How to reach Bandhavgarh

By Air:

A small air strip constructed near the Bandhavgarh National Park in Umaria District facilitates the landing of the private charter planes. However, the Jabalpur Airport (Dumna Airport) located about 230 kilometers from Bandhavgarh is the nearest airport available for the public usage. The chief airlines catering their services at the Jabalpur Airport are; Air India, SpiceJet, Kingfisher Airlines and Ventura Airconnect Ltd. Scheduled flight services to and from Delhi, Mumbai and Indore are provided from Jabalpur on regular basis. To reach Bandhavgarh from Jabalpur tourists can either hire a taxi which would cost around 3000 INR or avail the frequently plying state transport buses.

By Rail:

The Umaria Railway Station (UMR) falling under the Katni-Bilaspur section of the South-Eastern Railway and positioned approximately 33 kilometers from the Tala Village of the Bandhavgarh National Park is the nearest railhead that connects this Tiger Reserve to rest of the country by rail route. Some of the worth mentioning trains plying from the Umaria Railway Station include Ambikapur Exp, Amarkantak Exp, Ambikapur Jabalpur Exp, Sarnath Exp, Betwa Exp, Durg Nautanwa Exp, Gorakhpur Durg Exp, Narmada Exp, Utkal Exp, Hirakund Exp, Vishakapatnam Amritsar Hirakund Exp, etc. Umaria Railway Station is linked to some of the important Indian cities such as Jabalpur, Katni, Bishrampur, Ambikapur, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Bhopal, Sarnath, Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Nautanwa, Kanpur, Indore, Rewa, Dewas, Ujjain, Puri, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jhansi, Gwalior, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Mathura, H Nizamuddin, New Delhi, Meerut, Roorkee, Haridwar, Jammu, Vishakapatnam, etc by train. Tourists can reach Umaria from Bandhavgarh by taxi which would cost around 600 rupees or travel through the state transport buses.

By Road:

 Bandhavgarh National Park is located about 33 km from Umaria, 95 km from Katni, 104 km from Shahdol, 112 km from Satna, 119 km from Rewa, 169 km from Jabalpur, 176 km from Panna National Park, 181 km from Sanjay National Park, 186 km from Kanha National Park, 217 km from Damoh, 225 km from Khajuraho, 337 km from Pench National Park, 444 km from Nagpur and 479 km from Bhopal. SH 10, SH 11 and NH 78 are the three major highways those connect the Bandhavgarh National Park with other towns and cities of Madhya Pradesh and the neighboring states by road. State transport and private buses as well as taxis regularly ply to and from Bandhavgarh and proffer the visitors efficient road connectivity to this nature preserve.
